I have always had a desire to work in the Hospitality industry and kick started my career at the Intercontinental Hotel Group in Birmingham running the Conference and Banqueting Dep’t, a move to the Moat House Group soon followed so I could test my hand at being a Wedding Coordinator and Duty Manager, having learned quickly the joys of being a Toast Master and dealing with sometimes irate, sometimes happy couples, I took the ‘ Dick Whittington’ route to London to see if the streets really were paved with gold.
My passions are food, music and events so I quickly got myself setup working with the Good Eating Company and running my own bar nights, a year later I moved into Floor Management at the Business Design Centre working on shows such as Country Living, RSVP and The Restaurant Show. During 2004 – 2007 I took a sabbatical from the show floor and ran a recruitment agency supplying staff to the Events and Contract Catering industry, working closely with The Dorchester and The Ritz and event companies such as Moving Venue and Admirable Crichton. In early 2008 I moved into outdoor events and managed to combine my passion for food and events when I started at Brand Events as Operations Manager at Taste of London, the world’s greatest food festival.
