Many many moons ago, I left University College Galway armed with a business degree and no idea in the world what I wanted to do with it! After suffering through many jobs as a graduate, I won a green card in the lottery and my life changed forever! With my newfound freedom, I decided to embark on a life of travel, fun and adventure and fund this lifestyle doing casual work in the summer and winter resorts of North America.
Fast forward 15 years; I had 11 ski seasons in the idyllic ski town of Breckenridge Colorado under my belt, lots of life experiences ,a mortgage, and fine collection of stamps in my passport! And when it looked like The Rocky Mountains were to be my destiny, I decided to change it all up and return to Ireland…..just to make life interesting!
And very interesting life became indeed…. as this brings me to the Brand Events chapter of my life! I joined Avril to work on her Ice Rink venture while she and Chris Hughes were at the time hatching Brand Event’s first ever event outside of the UK. And so the Taste of Dublin was born and Brand Events 1st international office came to be. And so in a very unexpected way….. my life of fun & adventure continues…….with a few challenges and curve balls thrown in……just to keep it interesting!
Having an abundance of energy, and being a bit of an adrenaline junkie and an expert at burning the candle at both ends (& often in the middle too) I couldn’t have found a better match than a career in event management working for Brand Events! Six years on I have worked the operations on all the Irish events and have had the opportunity to join the team on occasion in the UK and most recently Sydney to give a helping hand.
Who knows what the next chapter will bring…..but all I know is that I am enjoying this one and I don’t want this one to end!
